The Ultimate Guide To Tailwind

February 5, 2019 by ashleestuart 6 Comments

If you’re new around here, then you probably aren’t aware of my serious obsession with Pinterest. It is my leading source of blog traffic, the sole purpose of why I’m able to cook, and the reason for the infestation of houseplants plopped around my house. The secret to my Pinterest strategy is by using Tailwind. *Tailwind has made such an impact on my Pinterest traffic, and therefore my blog traffic!

Tailwind was something that I didn’t think that I needed when I first began blogging. Mainly because I wasn’t making enough to justify it! Then I realized that there actually is a free account! After literally a week, I knew that the results totally justifed the price, and I haven’t looked back since.

Tailwind

What is Tailwind?

Glad you asked! *Tailwind is a Pinterest scheduling tool. It automatically posts to Pinterest without you having to do anything else. Personally, I’m always trying to find ways to automate my life, so this is perfect! You can set how many pins you want to post per day, fill up your schedule, and you’re all set. I attribute the majority of my blog growth to Tailwind. I’ve seen more traffic, more email subscribers, and the biggest growth in my Pinterest profile!

What can you do on Tailwind?

In addition to automating your pins, you can actually watch the results from your Pinterest profile. It shows your engagement rate per pin, which boards are performing the best, and even a pin inspector. It’s a great way to learn what works for you and what doesn’t work. It is also an amazing source of content! One of my favorite parts of the platform is the hashtag finder tool!

It’s actually part of an Instagram account with Tailwind. I prefer not to automate my Instagram, but I take full advantage of the hashtag tool! You can put in your caption, and Tailwind will actually recommend hashtags for you. I explain it a little bit more in this post! It’s a great way to learn what works for you and what doesn’t work. It is also an amazing source of content! There are so many amazing creators that use the site, and *Tailwind will actually recommend content for you! You can also join a Tailwind Tribe!

Tailwind Tribes: 101

A Tailwind Tribe is what makes the platform truly social. They are groups of Tailwind users who have similar content. Some tribes are huge with thousands of users, and some a smaller and more niche focused. Whatever you’re looking for, there is a tribe for it! Tribes are located on the in the left side menu. Type in a keyword, and it will show you all of the Tailwind Tribes that you can join.

You’ll see keywords, audience size, and the activity level of each group. Some groups are public, and some are private. Don’t be afraid to join the private groups if you want to! One important thing to do before you join any tribe is to make sure you read the rules. Some have rules about your ratio of pins you add, or even a limit to how many pins you can add per week. I highly recommend tribes, they make *Tailwind so much more beneficial!

    Hi Ashlee,

Thanks for sharing this post. It’s been very helpful. Basically, Tailwind is what you can call an all-in-one marketing tool. That’s why it’s trusted by the most successful of bloggers and business owners.

I love the Tailwind Tribes because I get to meet a group of like-minded people who share really great quality content per niche.

What about you? What do you love about Tailwind?

    Valerie
