Editing your photos is one of the easiest things that you can do, and it can really help brand your blog or photos. While how you edit your Instagram and blog photo might be different compared to others, I think that we all want the same thing, right? We want our photos to be clean, crisp, and beautiful! I’m sharing how I edit my Instagram and blog photos so that you can take some of my techniques and add them to your skill set!
Find a color or vibe that you’re looking for
While overwhelming your Instagram with a color might be for you, I prefer to go with a vibe. I’ll go into how I feel about editing in a little bit, but for now, we are going to talk about how you can decide on how you want to edit your Instagram and blog photos!
The best way I have figured to go about this is to go on Instagram and spend some time. Hop on the explore page, and see what kind of photos you are drawn to. Maybe they are all white and bright, or maybe they have a vintage feel to them. Once you figure out what pictures you’re drawn to, then boom! You have a starting point.
The actual editing process
Let me go ahead and say that I am not a photographer my any means of the imagination. Do I have fun with it? 100%! My editing process actually starts on my computer, even for Instagram photos. I have a MacBook, and I honestly don’t mind the editing software that comes on the computer. I use it as a pre-lightroom editing situation, and it works out really well for me. I do it to clean up and make my photos how I pictured them in my head. This can be done on any editing platform, but if you use a MacBook, then here are the exact adjustments that I use on every single photo!
Next, I’ll head over into Lightroom which is where my presets are. Lightroom is not a free platform, but the entire Adobe suite is something that I use all of the time. For me, it is worth the $9.99/month, and it has just made my entire blogging process so much easier. Majority of the time, I could get away with using only my Macbook to edit my Instagram and blog photos, but Lightroom makes just the best little difference.

A few more tips to edit your Instagram and blog photos
I think the most important tip to remember is that you are not like everyone else! Make sure that your editing is unique to you and your personality. The great thing about using presets is that you can have a preset set up your photo, but you can still add your own spin on it!
I’m a firm believer that your editing style should never alter a photo. It should improve the photo without compromising your art. I noticed this a lot when I did beauty blogging. People like to know the true color of something!
