How to make sure you’re connecting with your blog readers

Something that has always drawn me to a blog is my “relationship” with the author. As creators, it can be so simple to just exhaust ourselvces with the creative process. There have been a lot of times where I just forget that a huge part of blogging is connecting with my blog readers! If you’re serious about your blog, or maybe looking to take it to the next level, here are a few tips!

connecting blog readers

It’s all about being honest

At the end of the day, if I want to see someone being fake, I’ll turn on old episdoes of Jerry Springer! There are a lot of bloggers out there, like a lot! One of the easiest way to start connecting with your blog readers is by simply just being honest with them. We all have had relationships where someone lies about something, and it just ruins it from the beginning. I recently wrote a post about the legal side of blogging which covers quite a bit about why being honest is important on a legal scale, but there is more to it! Share how you honestly feel about a product, or get real about social media. Prove that not only is your content valuable, but it is 100% honest.

Start by being yourself!

The absolute best way to begin connecting with your blog readers is just by being yourself! You would be shocked at how many of your favorite bloggers or creators are putting on a persona instead of showing you who they really are. While there is nothing wrong with having some sort of privacy, you cannot expect others to open up if you’re not willing to do so!

Make sure that you’re making an effort

Like I just said, make sure you’re willing to put in what you want out of a situation. I’ve never been one into manifesting, but I think that is kind of a principle of it right? If you want your readers to comment, click, or purchase something from you, you should be willing to do the same for them, or even other bloggers. Even something as simple as Instagram, make sure that you’re taking the time out of your day to engage with those that comment or like your photos and do the same for them. It’s all about building a community, so make that extra effort!
