One of the most important aspects of your blog is your blog’s email list. Unless you’re really thinking about it, it can be forgotten. Your blog’s email list is important because it is a way to connect with your readers. You can jump into their inbox with an update, something you found, or just a chit chat. While they are great, they can be difficult to grow. Here are a few tips to help you grow your list!
You have to let people know!
When you hopped onto my blog, you were probably greeted with a pop up. That pop is for my Grow Your Instagram email course (which you should totally sign up for!). One of the biggest mistakes that people make is not letting anyone know about their blog’s email list! Personally, I use Mailerlite for my entire email program. It is by far the easiest, and I can really customize it to do whatever I want. I use it to share embedded forms in releated blog posts, for a large banner at the bottom of my homepage, as well as the pop ups that you see!
Create some freebies!
This is a great way to get people to sign up for your blog’s email list! You can create calendars, checklists, or whatever you want. I love to use Canva to create simple graphics, and I’ve recently been loving the Over App as well. You can use freebies related to a blog post as an opt-in, or you can create an email course like I have. Basically, you need to make sure that the reader thinks your blog’s email list is worth their time and inbox space.
Provide some sort of value
If you read my blog post about creating better content for your blog, then you know the importance of providng value. Your email list is no different! You have to remember that someone is going out of their way to sign up for content that you create. Make sure you’re providing them with some sort of benefit. This could be extra tips that are exclusive for your blog’s email list, or it could be a list of your favorite hashtags for Instagram engagement.
