You’ve set up a beautiful blog, your images are attracting attention, but does your audience actually know you? Creating an amazing about me page is so much easier than you could ever imagine.
Know who your audience is
This is important because it will determine how you write your about me page. By finding out information about who you are talking to, this will determine what you want to include in your about me! Are they primarily interested in beauty? Is a great recipe important to them? For me, my blog is all about creating a community, and I focus on speaking to everyone as my friend. Take some time to learn more about your audience!
What’s your blog about?
Your about me page is meant to attract readers. You could have hundreds of pages of content, but realistically, your readers won’t look at all of those first. Let the reader know what you’re offering up! Providing value is one of the biggest requirements if you want people to keep coming back to your blog. Your readers come first, so you need to be upfront and honest with them.
Let the readers in!
Don’t be afraid to get personal with your readers! I’ve been able to connect with so many people based on being open and honest. If you have pets, please let us see them! I don’t think I can ever see too many photos of dogs. I love when people open up about their past, and even what led them to blog in the first place. There is always a story behind the blog, so share it!
What makes you different?
I’m not going to lie, there are a lot of bloggers out on the internet. We all have similar content and have a similar point of view.
Add some photos
You’re adding photos into your blog, so why not your about me page? A lot of times on the blog people aren’t seeing you. It’s nice to feel like we know the person behind the blog. Even if it is just one photo, it’s better than nothing! Most of the time, pictures speak at least 1000 words.
Don’t forget your socials
Alright, you’ve shared who you are, and what the readers can get from your blog. Don’t let it stop there! Share your social media accounts to keep the conversation going. A lot of the people I have connected with have been life-long friends too! In addition to your about me page, make sure that you share your social media accounts all over the blog. Give people a ton of chances to make that connection. Places like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest are amazing for connecting!
Call To Action
A call to action is something that entices the reader to continue the relationship with you and your blog. Make sure you’re inviting them to be part of your community! This can be in the form of social media sites, or even the amazing newsletter you’ve created!
