5 things to include in your blog posts

Hello fellow blogger! When it comes to writing blog posts, most of us have a standard routine. We choose a topic, find key points to write about, take some photos, boom! While the process seems simple, there is so much more to putting together a blog post that people actually want to read. Here are 5 things to include in your blog posts.

include blog posts

1. What is your call to action?

I’ve mentioned a call to action in a few posts before. If you don’t know what a CAT is, it is simply asking the reader to do something. It might be checking out a new post, signing up for the newsletter, or following your amazing feed on Instagram. Believe it or not, you can include a CAT no matter what you’re blogging about.

2. Are you including value in your blog posts?

Yep, it is me again talking about perceived value! As bloggers, we can often forget that our readers are taking time out of THEIR lives to read what we write. When someone chooses to read your content, they are typically looking for some sort of resolution to a problem. While this problem might not be world peace, small problems matter too! Make sure you’re adding value into every blog post that you write, it might even turn a reader into a subscriber!

3. SEO is your best friend, seriously!

Oh the joys of SEO. This is every blogger’s best friend, but they might not even know it. SEO is optimizing your blog for search engines. This helps users find your content. I highly suggest downloading YOAST SEO if you’re on WordPress, it takes the guess work out of it, and makes it so easy!

4. Have a main idea or keypoint!

When it comes to a blog post, you’re probably writing it for a specific purpose, right? Make sure that you have a main idea you are trying to portray in every blog post that you write. Not only is it going to keep you organized, but it is also a huge asset for your readers as well. You want them to leave your post possibly knowing something that they didn’t before.

5. Don’t be afraid to use subtitles

The most important thing about a great blog post is the level of organization. There defintely always needs to be some structure. One good thing about subtitles is that Google loves Heading2, and can use that to read your website and prove its’ value. Not only will they help your website, but like having a main idea, it keeps everything organized for your reader as well.
